Weybridge Cobham 2-week August road closure - expect traffic carnage!

BYFLEET ROAD CLOSED FOR 2 WEEKS

If you thought the Olympic Cycling might make traffic in Weybridge and Cobham a bit sticky, you ain't seen nuthin' yet! Thanks go to NiS Member Karen Sutton and to Sony UK for passing on the following info:

Please find attached information regarding the closure of Byfleet Road during August. It will be closed from the junction of Seven Hills Road to the junction of Reigate Road (leading to Silvermere) from midnight Aug 10^th for up to 2 weeks.  

I have spoken to Philip Hammonds office this morning and he ensures us that all options have been considered. Due to the fact it is a trench covering the whole width of the road, there are no alternative solutions. It was requested that the contractors work from 7am – 10pm 7 days a week to try and speed up the process and this has been agreed.
