Regrettably, according to statistics, one in three marriages currently ends in divorce. It is therefore perhaps sensible if you are contemplating marriage to prepare for the possibility before it actually happens by considering a pre-nuptial agreement.
If you are already married there is the possibility of preparing what is called a Post Nuptial Agreement. This will enable parties to reassure themselves and be aware of the financial consequences of a divorce.
For both a Pre Nuptial and Post Nuptial Agreement to be enforceable by law both parties should seek independent legal advice.
