Networking in Surrey

My father use to nag me about doing some exercise or moving somehow, he was always on me about that, and I use to hate it. He said it was good for your wellbeing and health, and I thought it was boooooring. Now I know better, he was absolutely right, it is a must to exercise or move in some way to be and stay healthy, but mostly to feel good about yourself and life.

Through my work, helping women to get their appetite for life back again, to feel more sensual and sexy, you have to work on feeling comfortable in your body, and to do that you need to move more and be aware of and connect with your body.

By connecting with your body I mean that you need to learn to listen to your body, especially when you have aches and pains. But most importantly, to train your body to relax. We are busy bees and we don't pay enough attention to our bodies. Many people are very tense, and never really relax their bodies, which often lead to these aches, pains and general feeling unfit and unhealthy. Not feeling good about themselves.

I'm not talking about losing weight, or to shape or sculpt your body ready for the beach or anything like that, I'm talking about feeling really good about yourself and life, and that includes liking your body as well.

Feeling sensual
In the English dictionary one of the definitions  of sensual is:
"Tending to arouse the bodily appetites, especially the sexual appetite".

That really is what Re-Discover Your Sparkle is about. To wake up your body so that you can feel warm and lovely in day-to-day life.

So what do I mean by connecting with your body? I mean that you pay attention to, be aware of and sense what your body is showing you or telling you.

And you start to be aware and pay attention to your feet.

Why bare feet?
Bare feet helps you to centre; and to move efficiently, gracefully, and powerfully.
Balance in the whole body begins with your feet. Every imbalance in the body can be detected in the feet.

Like your hands, the feet are prehensile. They grasp, clutch, support, reach out, touch, and provide balance.

Nia dance movements teaches you how to properly use each foot's amazing network of thirty three joints, twenty six bones, more than a hundred ligaments, nineteen larger muscles and many smaller (intrinsic) muscles, and seven thousand nerve endings. Nia movement engages all parts of your feet every time you work out.

So kick your shoes off and walk around barefoot, what do you sense?

There are a number of Nia practices for your feet, here is the first one, shown by a Nia teacher. It's called Heel Lead:
