Event Description

How small business owners can preserve their sanity and their customers

With GDPR coming into force next May, EVERY business owner needs to understand the basics around how they manage their data and, in particular, their marketing lists. The BIG question is simply, will it be legal to keep emailing your current contacts and prospects?

It’s not a straightforward subject and you’ll need to decide for yourself how you want to implement the new rules. David will be answering some key questions for you, including:

- My list is made up of a mix of past customers and contacts – is it legal?

- I’m B2B – but some of my list have @gmail etc type addresses … do I have to delete them?

- Is B2B much less strict than B2C?

- Realistically, will anyone prosecute me? I have a proper unsubscribe in my email footer and will remove anyone who complains to me instantly?

- Can I just carry on as I am?

About the speaker:
David Bittiner is a Director at The BD Consultancy and he has an unusual background, being both lawyer and marketer. He began his career as a litigator and, after having become a Partner, he left the law and ran his own small chain of central London bars and restaurants for 12 years. Subsequently, for six years he was Head of Business Development and Marketing for a leading regional firm before becoming a Business Consultant, trainer and Coach three years ago. He now regularly advises businesses both large and small on wide range of strategic business issues centred around business development and marketing.
