A complete guide to traditional and alternative finance for SMEs

The Great Recession highlighted challenges faced by small-and-medium enterprises (SME’s) to fund their businesses for working capital, investment and growth.  Traditional financing sources dried up while regulatory constraints increased the hurdles faced by businesses to carry on normal commercial activity.

The financial crisis also proved to be a source of great innovation which is now transforming funding for SME’s. 
Technology enabled platforms to pool capital through the internet from a wide range of small investors and to differentiate financing opportunities for a wide range of companies including many SME’s who otherwise lacked access to funding.
Crowdfunding, invoice-lending, and peer-2-peer lending are examples of these new platforms which have emerged over the last few years for SME financing.  Traditional funding sources such as banks have innovated too.

This event will provide practical information for SME’s including an overview of alternative finance, a panel discussion by companies funded through alternative finance and access to a range of finance providers.
