Had some thoughts today and thought I would share to hopefully inspire some wider thinking. Let me know your thoughts.
What is your approach to Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) for your Business, Brand and Website?
Is it Strategic or Prescriptive? SEO is evolving!
When you do an online search, do you see #Google serving up short summary snippets in a featured box? This is a featured snippet and is something that you as a website and #business owner should want to be part of.
Why? Not only does it stand out from the rest of the search landscape but it also draws attention to your brand within the featured snippet box.
BUT THAT IS NOT THE BIGGEST #OPPORTUNITY.
#VOICESEARCH
These featured snippets are triggers that enable Google to thrust your brand into the voice ecosystem of what is Voice Search and the Google Home environment.
If a consumer was to ask a question via voice, either with their phone or Google Home device and the answer has been attributed to a featured snippet box that you own, Google would announce, according to “Your Brand” and then transcribe your featured snippet box which in turn is scraped from your website.
It is a simple explanation but highlights the power of #StrategicSEO and #brandbuilding.
Next time you see a featured snippet in search, do the same search as a voice search and listen to the structure of the delivery. Google only gives one voice search result which in essence is a Page 1, Position 1 result.
