Surrey’s businesses demonstrate sustainable energy

As part of Surrey County Council’s first open energy event for businesses, twenty high profile organisations throughout the county are open their doors and offering site tours to businesses interested in finding out about renewable energy measures.

What is Open Energy Surrey?

Increasing energy prices and new government funding for generating renewable electricity and heat, mean there are many financially beneficial solutions available. Open Energy Surrey is for organisations to see and learn from the sites in Surrey that have real life examples in operation.

The Open Energy Surrey event, organised by the Waste and Sustainability team, will support Surrey’s own ambition to combat climate change by bringing together sustainable businesses, promoting the responsible use of resources and encouraging a greener future.

When's the event taking place?

Free conference - 17 May

Tuesday 17 May at the Mill Studio, Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, Guildford from 9.30am - 1.30pm Featuring case studies and advice from the experts on how to get it right at their business site.

Free site tours - 18 and 19 May

Businesses can sign up to see how to get the best return on investments in efficient and renewable energy with 20 sites across Surrey offering free site tours and sharing their experiences, including:

•         Wood fuel heating at Audi showroom

•         Surrey Police tackle waste with computer power control software

•         LED lighting achieves impressive energy savings in Redhill
