Royal Ascot already (300th anniversary) – and Wimbledon next week (which includes the longest day) – 2011 is rapidly approaching half time. Hope you’re having a good year. Most people out there in Networkland tell me they’re ‘doing OK’, which I interpret as not really growing their business as fast as they would like.
At least they’re out there actively networking, so full marks, guys!
You’ll find over 200 events listed on Networking in Surrey each month – including all the main organisations in our Regular Group Meetings section. We’ll carry on doing our bit to help by bringing you news of all the events that matter – including the free and pay-as-you-go ones, to keep your costs down.
When I kicked off this site at the beginning of last year, my research turned up 82 active networking groups in Surrey (counting each individual group such as BNI chapters and 4N groups separately). I repeated the exercise last week and the number has risen to 125 – even though some of those original 82 no longer have a presence in Surrey. New ones have come along, so at least networking is still growing!
Coming up just in the next week or so in our Members’ Featured EVENTS listings we have today’s free Business Intros networking in Guildford and Venture Catalyst in Croydon (free to first-time visitors), the free Jelly Day in Caterham and free Redhill and Reigate Tweetup tomorrow, and a wealth of fantastic networking options, such as Ladies at Eleven in Cobham, the new Caterham Business Executives Association, the 4N Richmond launch (2 places left at time of writing), Inspired Networking in Woking, a Luxury Lifestyle mini-expo at Foxhills Spa, a free Intellectual Property workshop in Guildford... Check it all out on the site now!
I am delighted to report our traffic figures exceeded those of Networking in Berkshire last month – friendly rivalry keeps Chris and myself fired up as we take this project forward. There were 1,365 unique visitors to NiS in May, and 1,211 to NiB – but NiB has 654 Members compared to 583 on NiS. Of course, it’s all great news for us and our advertisers who keep it all free for everybody – stars! Click on their ads in the right hand column, and check them out...
Diary of a Networker...
I’ve been out and about as usual, hitting Ascot for Nigel Botterill’s Entrepreneur’s Circle last week, and Karen Sutton’s Business at Brooklands at Mercedes-Benz World. There was a Surrey Business Club sociable networking evening with Ian Hamilton, Phil Arnett and Deryck Svensson, and a Business Biscotti morning with plenty of NiS Members including Tessa Hood, Charlotte Grant, Dan Smale, John Edward, and Martin Wallman, both in Cobham (curse those ghastly roadworks!) Yesterday I was at Biscotti at Wentworth (still buzzing after the PGA event) with loads more NiS and NiB Members in evidence, and today I’m off to Business Intros Guildford. Next week’s diary is filling up already – no rest for the wicked...
Happy Networking!
