Networking in Surrey

Could an eCommerce store improve your current web visibility?

During the lock down I have been looking at companies that have succeeded. In this new reality companies that have embraced digital have been really successful – those that have not embraced online are suffering.

It got me thinking – how many companies aren’t online? How many are on-line but with a poor website – or not accepting payments. Or accepting them in a bad way.

It surprised me. Less than two thirds of UK small business have a website. That is nuts. A website not only helps a business promote their offering and compete – but allows them to sell products and services too.

It got me thinking. Why do they not have online presence? Sure there are some sectors that have a captive client base, but the majority must want to reach new clients. They are in business after all.

Then I thought about what is available if you actually need a website.

Most small business owners are not web experts – nor should they be. So a small business that needs a website currently has two options.

A site based on a ‘cookie cutter’ template – these often lack SEO and have limitations and need users to create the content and pages. It can be a nightmare if you’re trying to run your business.

Of a fully coded site built by an expert – I’ve seen examples of companies being charged thousands for sites that don’t perform or even be found on Google. Some don’t even have SSL or checkouts or calls to action.

So what is the solution?

What if a company had the benefit of a fully coded, mobile optimised store – without the headache and upfront costs.

The website alone is not the end – you need a strategy to get found on-line – using SEO, Paid ads and social media. I have years of experience in this.

Many companies get this. But thousands don”t. The reason? They fear cost, commitment and dare I say it…change.

That’s where I feel I can make a difference.

I have teamed up with two digital entrepreneurs – together we have over 30 years experience. We know we can make a difference to businesses across the UK with what we see as a fantastic solution to get people transacting online.

Maybe a bricks and mortar shop wants to start selling to local residents – a manufacturer wants to put their catalogue online. Or even companies that want to update their online presence because they know its outdated and the competition is beating them.

The opportunities are endless.

It’s early days – I’m excited to be part of the team – the website will be live very soon and we have many potential clients keen to speak with us.

I’ll update here over the coming weeks – if this has resonated with you or you are interested in what we are doing – drop me an email at paul@3-commerce.co
