Homeless and unemployed young people talk about their experiences

The Amber Foundation is a charity in Surrey that helps homeless and unemployed young people aged 17-30 from across Surrey and beyond, to turn their lives around get back on their feet and back into employment or education.

Many of these young people have come from a difficult background, which has led them to making some bad choices early on in their life. For some of them, this has led onto getting involved in drugs, or gangs, which has resulted in some of them having to sleep rough or end up in prison.

When the young people come to us, they all want to change their lives and move on from the mistakes and troubles of the past. 

At Amber we engage the young men and women in a programme of activities, Monday - Friday, 9-5.30pm similar to a working week. Each resident has responsibilities and tasks and the opportunity to reflect on their lives and plan out what they hope their future will be.
