NEW Environment Agency Regulations.
The E.A. has adopted new bylaws relating to registration of boats on the River Thames
Now any boat that is in the water will need to be registered and insured. Prior to January 2011 if you had a boat on a mooring and did not use it you did not need to register it.
To register your boat if it has an engine you will need a Boat Safety Certificate, unless it is a small open boat with an outboard motor and no electrical installation.
A minimum of third party insurance with £1,000,000 of cover is now required.
The maximum penalty for failing to comply with registration requirements is £1,000, fine and the E.A can also remove and impound a boat.
