Event Description

Business Plans - The Real Story

The Cricketers, Cobham

Figures show that over 90% of small businesses never produce a business plan, despite being told many times how important it is. The reasons for this range from not knowing what a business plan actually is to believing you only need one if you want to ask the bank for some money! This presentation hopes to show the other side of the business plan - why it is a vital part of running your business.

Derek WilliamsonOur speaker is Derek Williamson, of G & Co Accountants in Molesey, Surrey. Derek is a very experienced businessman and amongst other posts is also Chairman of Elmbridge Business Network, Chairman of the North Surrey branch of The Federation of Small Businesses and a Director of Surrey Chambers of Commerce. Derek will be covering: - The key elements of a business plan - What questions you need to ask yourself - Examples of research that may be needed - The perils of not producing a plan - What to do once you have written it

MAP

DIRECTIONS The Cricketers is on the north side of Downside Common, at the end of a short unmade narrow road past a few houses. If you're coming off the A3 at the Cobham/Weybridge turnoff, head south toward Cobham High Street and turn right opposite Waitrose. This road leads all the way to Downside Common - and it's easy to miss the turn into the pub on your left, so be prepared to turn back and try again! That's the 'Downside' - but on the upside, there's plenty of room in the pub car park - oh, and the buffet is delicious!
