IoD South is passionate about creating better directors and our popular 8.59 business breakfasts do just that. It’s not about selling or networking for networking’s sake - it’s about connecting to share best practice and helping one another to shape and lead our organisations more effectively.
Put another way, it’s about working on the business, not in the business.

At each IoD South 8.59 breakfast, our guest speaker will give a brief introduction before dividing attendees into small focus groups of five to tackle a specific task or theme – the challenges of creating a green and sustainable business, for example.

The 8.59 approach works effectively by building mutual insight, rapport and trust. This encourages people to “scan” the wider world on each other’s behalf, providing the outsider’s view and fresh perspectives on each other’s business.
