The warts and all tale of a best-selling product

Cara will tell the story of the beginning of her business – starting in an industry she didn’t know or understand to start with.  How she grew the business in the UK and internationally (and maybe shouldn’t have done it so fast); how listening to customers can drive your business forward (although they’re not always right) and how staying nimble is the strength of a small business to ensure you stay ahead of the pack.

Who is the talk for?  

Anyone who runs a small business, whilst there is a focus on products due to the nature of Cara’s business, many of her learnings are applicable to most small businesses.

Learn from the mistakes I made, top tips on how to keep growing as long as you stay on your toes.

About the speaker:

In 2008 Cara Sayer needed a product to help her baby daughter sleep when they were away from home. On further investigation she couldn’t find one that existed already and so began the story of SnoozeShade. She was a mum who had never worked in retail/manufacturing or products but this didn’t stop her so she started her business Really Simple Ideas Limited and took her first product to market in March 2010.
