Event Description

Free Olympics Opportunities & Challenges Seminar at the Holiday Inn

2012 will bring the world's focus to Britain, giving British Businesses the opportunity to show the world the best they can offer.  This is especially true for those in the Tourism and Hospitality industries, with contacts still being let on CompeteFor.

The Olympics will also impact business with an extra strain on travel, security, and communications.  Preparing for the period from start of the Olympic Torch Relay (which passes through Surrey in July) to 9 September 2012, when the Paralympic Games end is essential for businesses in South East of England.  Plus the Olympic Cycle Races will bring over 1 million spectators in July and August, so 2012 is going to be a spectacular year in Surrey.

Benefits of attending this FREE event include:

•Hear from Barrie Higham, Culture and Tourism Legacy Officer, Surrey County Council on Business Opportunities arising from Pre-Games Training Camps as well as the proposed routes for the Cycle races and Torch Relay.

•Plus Gill Heighington, Training Manager Tourism South East will discuss events happening in your area and how they could affect your business

•Discover opportunities that are still available for London 2012 and how you can access them from Steven Powell, Principal Supply Chain Consultant, Business to Business

•Understand how travel disruption could affect, your suppliers, your staff and your customers

•Learn valuable lessons from the Winter Olympics held in Canada from Bharat Thakrar, BT. Bharat will also show you how to implement a simple 10 point plan to make your organisation resilient to unpredictable event

•Discover the role of networked IT systems and the risks from cyber criminals
