 iching mentors, and strengthening businesses\r\n\r\nOur speaker this m
 onth is Liz Grace from MCR Pathways.\r\nMCR Pathways are an award winn
 ing charity that provides 1-2-1 mentoring for young people in schools 
 across Surrey. Their mentors are all volunteers who give just 1 hour a
  week to support a young person facing challenges. No specific experie
 nce is required; they give full training and ongoing support.\r\nLiz w
 ill be talking about the power of mentoring and how this not only supp
 orts our young people and ultimately our whole community but it also t
 he benefits those people who give their time to mentor as well as the 
 employers who allow their staff to get involved with volunteering, spe
 cifically mentoring, and how it can benefit their Social Value/CSR eff
 orts.\r\nTo summarise: mentoring has clear impacts for all:\r\n\r\nthe
  mentee has the support of a reliable and caring adult relationship to
  help them with their challenges;\r\nthe mentor develops skills in man
 y areas including empathy and active listening, communication and henc
 e core leadership skills;\r\nthe employer/business benefits through in
 creased morale, staff development, staff retention, productivity and e
